GrantSnag — Terms of Service

1. Introduction & Acceptance

Welcome to GrantSnag. GrantPath Solutions LLC, a Virginia limited liability company ("GrantSnag," "we," "us," or "our"), operates a web-based platform at grantsnag.com (the "Service") that helps users discover, research, and track grant opportunities.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you ("you," "your," or the "Subscriber") and GrantSnag. By creating an account, subscribing to, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Definitions

  • Service — the GrantSnag platform, website, and related features.
  • Subscriber — a person or organization with a GrantSnag account.
  • Tracked Data — the structured information you enter to track grant opportunities in the Service: the name of the foundation/funder, amount requested, amount awarded, status, and date submitted.
  • Aggregate Insights — de-identified, combined statistics derived from Tracked Data across many Subscribers, displayed in-app (see Section 6).
  • Reference Data — objective facts about a funder or grant program (for example, application deadlines and requirements) that may be contributed by Subscribers and shared with all users as facts (see Section 6).

3. Eligibility & Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for all activity under your account.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for keeping your account secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

4. Subscription, Billing & Cancellation

  • The Service is offered on a paid subscription basis. Pricing and billing frequency are shown at sign-up and in your account.
  • Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor (Stripe). By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method until you cancel.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
  • You may cancel at any time through your account or by contacting support. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues through the end of the current paid period.
  • Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service or its data without our written permission.
  • Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract data from the Service except through features we provide for that purpose.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Service.
  • Use the Service to violate any law, infringe others' rights, or transmit malicious code.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this Section.

6. Your Data & How We Use It

We built GrantSnag to be a good steward of your information. We collect only what we need, we keep it secure, and we are deliberate and transparent about how it is used. This section explains exactly that.

6.1 What we collect

To help you track grants, we store the Tracked Data you enter: the name of the foundation/funder, amount requested, amount awarded, status, and date submitted, along with basic account information (such as your email).

6.2 How we use Tracked Data

We use Tracked Data in three distinct ways, each with its own safeguards:

(a) To operate and improve the Service (internal). We analyze Tracked Data to run, maintain, and improve GrantSnag — for example, to measure whether Subscribers' grant success rates improve over time and to refine our features. This internal use never exposes one Subscriber's activity to another Subscriber.

(b) Anonymized Aggregate Insights (shown in-app to other Subscribers). We may combine Tracked Data across many Subscribers into de-identified, aggregate statistics shown within the Service — for example, "a number of users are actively pursuing a grant from a given foundation." To protect your privacy:

  • Aggregate Insights are anonymized and are never tied to your organization or identity.
  • We suppress any aggregate that would reflect fewer than five (5) Subscribers, so small groups can never be singled out.
  • Aggregate Insights are used only inside GrantSnag to improve the experience for all Subscribers. We do not sell them and do not share or publish them outside the Service.
  • You may opt out of having your Tracked Data included in Aggregate Insights at any time by contacting us at the email in Section 17. (A self-service opt-out setting is planned.)

(c) User-contributed Reference Data (shared as objective facts). Some information you enter — such as a grant's application deadline or requirements — is an objective fact about the funder rather than information about you. We may share this Reference Data with all Subscribers to make everyone's research easier. Reference Data is shared as a fact only and is never attributed to you or any individual Subscriber.

6.3 What we will never use

We will never use the following for Aggregate Insights, Reference Data, or any sharing:

  • The name of your client or organization.
  • Your notes.
  • Your reasons for pursuing or declining an opportunity.

This information is yours. It is used only to provide the Service to you, and is not incorporated into any crowdsourced, aggregate, or shared data.

6.4 Security & stewardship

  • We protect your data with industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest.
  • We practice data minimization — we collect only what the Service needs.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • You remain in control of your data and may request export or deletion as described in our Privacy Policy.

Our Privacy Policy describes data retention, third-party processors, and your rights in greater detail, and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

7. Intellectual Property

  • Our property. The Service — including its software, design, content, and branding — is owned by GrantSnag and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service during your subscription.
  • Your content. You retain ownership of the Tracked Data and other content you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service, and to produce de-identified Aggregate Insights and Reference Data as described in Section 6.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

GrantSnag makes no guarantee regarding:

  • Grant awards — we do not guarantee you will receive any grant.
  • Funding success — we do not guarantee any funding outcome.
  • Accuracy of recommendations — including grant matches, suggestions, automated summaries, and any user-contributed Reference Data (such as deadlines and requirements), which you should independently verify directly with the funder.
  • Continuous availability — we do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GrantSnag shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the Service.

GrantSnag's total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the customer during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GrantSnag and its members, officers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

11. Termination

  • You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time (see Section 4).
  • We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service.
  • On termination, your right to use the Service ends. We will handle any remaining data in accordance with Section 6 and our Privacy Policy.

12. Electronic Communications

By creating an account, you consent to receive communications from GrantSnag electronically — including account notices, security notifications, and updates to the Service. You agree that these electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.

13. Force Majeure

GrantSnag shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including internet or hosting outages, natural disasters, acts of government, cyberattacks, labor disputes, or failures of third-party providers.

14. Beta Features

From time to time, GrantSnag may offer beta, preview, or early-access features. Any such features are provided "as is," may change or be discontinued at any time without notice, and may be less stable than generally available features. We are not liable for any issue arising from your use of a beta feature.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice (for example, by email or an in-app notice). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Virginia for any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service.
